Welcome to The Dames of Whine and Roses Strathmore Chapter of the Red Hat Society

Betty Sollid also known as Lady Liz, came up with the idea that Strathmore, Alberta, Canada needed a Chapter of The Red Hat Society. So on May 4th 2005, we held our initial Red Hat meeting at the Station Restaurant in Strathmore. Lady Liz, Amazing Grace, and Lady Jacqueline each invited one or two people and the word spread. We expected 14 ladies and 22 showed up. Amazing Grace made introductions and chaired our gathering. All were invited to come up with a name for our group, the majority settling on "Dames of Whine and Roses". Our group began meeting at the Boulevard Cafe in Strathmore on the first Thursday of each month, to make plans for outings, etc. Merry Maid Marian was elected as our Queen and Shocking Shirley as Co-Queen. These two royal ladies have inspired and lead the way with lots of hard work and communication, etc to bring our wonderful group to where we are now. Our wonderful Sask Lass will always be our Honorary Queen and the sisterhood continues to grow.
